The Chartered College of Teaching, the new independent and voluntary body for the teaching profession, is seeking to appoint eight classroom teachers to join its governing body as trustees from the Autumn term.
These teachers will be involved in leading and governing the organisation at a crucial time as the College prepares to open membership to teachers and schools across the country. The successful applicants will take an active leadership role in developing and approving strategy, amongst other responsibilities.
The role is voluntary, involving up to 20 days a year over an expected period of at least two years. The Chartered College of Teaching will pay for all travel and subsistence expenses and where possible, meetings and events are held at weekends or during evenings.
The College is specifically looking for classroom teachers with experience in one or more of the following fields: effective teaching and learning, professional development, research and evidence based practice, delivering projects around improving student outcomes and mobilising knowledge and sharing best practice within or between schools.
